Food & Beverage: Troon's dedicated corporate F&B team, led by Vice President of Food & Beverage, John Bartilomo, is focused on driving food and beverage profitability at our properties by marrying effective sales & marketing with exceptional products and service with stringent back office controls. Sales and Marketing: Troon's Sales & Marketing team assists with local marketing, but focuses primarily on delivering golfers, hotel guests, and members from both a regional and national level.
Human Resources: The HR team at Troon administers all aspects of employee management. Recruiting, training, hiring, workers' compensation, compliance, and benefit administration are just some of the duties performed by this team for the more than 10,000 Troon associates world-wide.
Procurement: Lead by Vice President of Procurement, Charlene Gallob, Troon continues to source the best pricing on services, goods, and equipment from our most sought after vendors. Finance & Accounting: Nearly 1/3 of the corporate team is devoted to the proper and timely management of property financials and payroll. Lead by Troon's Chief Financial Officer, Ruth Engle, the clients are not only well informed, but also compliant in all necessary areas of the operation.
Design & Development: Troon's in-house design team can assist in any form of Clubhouse or golf course redesign or construction. Its team of engineers, designers, and decorators make sure that building projects are well managed, deliver the most "bang for the buck," and produce the desired results.
Risk Management: Troon has the ability to leverage its large portfolio and negotiate rates for health, property, and casualty insurance far below what properties can garner on their own. Our team continues to investigate better and more favorable insurance options on behalf of our clients.
Information Technology: Troon's IT department insures that each property has secured, functional, and applicable technology at the best price possible. If on our platform, most property IT issues can be handled remotely from Scottsdale - thus saving time and money having to use a third party IT provider. Partnering with industry leaders such as Jonas, EZLinks, Oracle, and IMAVEX allow us to deliver consistent and economical IT solutions across a variety of operating environments.
Legal: Many times properties are left on their own in terms of legal matters - forcing either to "trust" vendor contracts and agreements or hire expensive external council to review. Troon services include having our legal team review documents and contracts to ensure that the property's best interests are being looked after.

Troon has been successful in dispelling the notion that a snack bar, combined with on-course food and beverage, is all that is required to satisfy a golfer's food and beverage needs. Times have changed, and today the ability to offer a wide variety of upscale fare, in addition to traditional snack bar selections, is now a standard in the golf industry. Superb cuisine, fine wines from around the world, an extensive selection of domestic and foreign beers, and of course, great cigars are now standard at Troon-managed golf facilities.
Troon's formula for success in the area of golf course food and beverage includes extensive corporate office oversight and control. Through delivering superior service, diverse menu selections and comprehensive food and beverage programs, owners are discovering that the ability to offer upscale fare provides yet another opportunity to generate increased revenues.
Troon understands that there are many questions and concerns associated with third party management. TRUTH - As stated before, We ARE NOT an owner or a lessee - we are agents of the Owner, Membership, or Board of Directors. We are similar to a stand-alone GM only on a larger platform with greater resources. We find ways to do what your facility wants to do more effectively and efficiently.
2. Brand Myth - "Troon is going to put their brand everywhere and we are going to
lose our Club's identity."
TRUTH - Your facility can choose to use our brand as much or as little as they wish - we just believe that it's nice to have a choice.
3. Employee Myth - "Troon is going to come in and fire all the staff."
TRUTH - Should the property's employees be on our employment platform, our intention is not to fire anyone - we want leaders at every level of the organization, and those who are excited about quality, professionalism, career opportunities, and accountability will do very well. Performers love to be held accountable!
4. Cost Myth - "Troon is too expensive."
TRUTH - The fact of the matter is we are net positive in nearly all our management contracts when you consider cost saving in benefits, insurance, procurement, operational efficiencies, and associate retention before revenues are even considered. Troon's ability to consistently grow over the last 20+ years is a testament to being able to deliver financial results to our clients and show value for our fees.
5. Too Big Myth - "Troon is so big, we are going to get lost in the system and not
get personalized attention."
TRUTH - The idea that a smaller company with fewer resources gives better and more individualized attention is contradictory. The simple fact is our scale is such that we can devote more diversified resources - not less- even as we add additional properties.
6. Failure Myth - "We have failed in some way because we are considering outside management."
TRUTH - Organizations have relied on outside expertise for decades to manage areas of their business in which they do not have a core competency.
