Scheduled for completion in January 2009, the most exclusive and largest tourist-residential complex in Mexico, Campeche Playa Golf, Marina & Spa Resort is set on 761 acres along the gulf side of the Yucatan Peninsula in the municipality of Champotón. The Spanish development company, Grupo Mall, world-renown for unique projects located in extraordinary areas where sustainability and the elements prevail, has created a new resort destination with tremendous ecological character.
Located near the city of Campeche, founded in the 16th century and rich with history, culture and striking architecture, the resort features a spacious clubhouse providing guests with luxurious amenities and an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Course surrounded by native flora, fauna, mangrove, and jungle. The destination also boasts a 500-room five-star hotel, marina, retail shops, a preventive clinic, a luxurious spa and restaurants along a pristine stretch of beach that measures two miles long. Rounding out the resort are 3,045 residential units, of which 2,077 units that will be the first ever Golden Bear Residences that combines exclusivity with the best and most modern services in an exceptional setting.
I am fascinated in participating in this project, first as a golf course designer, and now with the Golden Bear Residences. I not only enjoy golf, but other outdoor sports like tennis, fishing, sailing or diving, among others. This resort offers all those possibilities, and we are proud to contribute to that - Jack Nicklaus.
The area’s mild climate, beautiful coastline and proximity to ancient Mayan ruins make it an ideal destination for travelers seeking a relaxing and unique cultural experience. Grupo Mall and Jack Nicklaus have joined together to establish a new lifestyle, combining unique experiences, with innovation and quality, which is why Grupo Mall has recently been distinguished with the “Best international Developer” award by the American Developers & Builders Alliance.
